  • Phase 1: Initial Topic Deadline. By Sunday, September 22, 2019:
    1. Form your group.
    2. Choose a topic for your article. There are some topics offered to start with, but it is preferable to invent your own.
    3. Create a Google Docs document of which formatting follows the example article and share it publicly.
    4. Add your topic to the list of articles. Make it a link to your Google Docs document.
  • Phase 2: Research Plan Deadline. By Sunday, October 6, 2019:
    1. Search relevant references from scientific databases (exploit e.g. Google Scholar and Finna portal).
    2. Write an outline of your article well advance before the research plan supervision. The document must contain at least title, authors, structure (section titles), research question, and references (initial list with at least five scientific reference). It is preferred to have at least a condensed research plan in the introduction section.
    3. Book a research plan supervision time.
  • Phase 3: Article Checkpoint. By Sunday, October 27, 2019:
    1. Appear in the research plan supervision session (whole group).
    2. Write the article into your Google Docs document. It must contain at least 2500-3000 words before the checkpoint.
  • Phase 4: Article Deadline. By Sunday, November 10, 2019:
    1. Write the article into your Google Docs document. Make sure that you work as a group: the article must be a coherent one article instead of three separate pieces of text. It must contain at least 4000 words and be almost ready before the next article supervision.
    2. Fill your preferences related to seminar scheduling.
    3. Book an article supervision time.
  • Phase 5: Camera Ready Deadline. By Sunday, November 24, 2019:
    1. Appear in the article supervision session (whole group).
    2. Finalise your article. Again, reserve time to meet as a group and make your article coherent.
    3. Submit your article into the Urkund system. Select Arhippainen, Leena as a teacher. The course is [815657S]. Copy the contents of your article without the list of references into a file (Urkund supports multiple formats), and upload that.
    4. Generate a PDF version from the Google Docs document (File > Download as > PDF Document (.pdf)).
    5. Update the Own Article page to contain
      1. the final link to the Google Docs document used to generate the PDF
      2. the PDF version of your article, as well as
      3. the final title and the final order of authors (exactly the same as in the generated PDF).
  • Phase 6: Seminar Deadline. By Sunday, November 24, 2019:
    1.  Prepare a seminar presentation. If you are not presenting it in a seminar, prepare a video.
    2. Attach your presentation slides in PDF format or link to the video to the Seminar page.
